Qualifications
Successful candidates will possess the following qualifications:
• Coaching/Advising experience at the high school level in the sport/activity for which you are applying;
• Knowledge of and experience in the sport/activity for which you are applying;
• Ability and experience working with high school students;
• Ability and experience working with parents, fellow coaches and school district staff;
• Effective and positive communication skills;
• Ability to work within school district guidelines and budget;
• Valid first aid card;
• Availability for daily practices and matches, or activities;
• Fundraising knowledge and/or capabilities;
• Understanding of OSAA rules and regulations;
• Good organizational skills;
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check;
• Ability and commitment to practice cultural competency and demonstrate respect for diversity.

Springfield Public Schools is located in Springfield, Oregon, in the heart of the Willamette Valley, and serves 185 square miles of the city of Springfield and East/Central Lane County. About the Position
Springfield Public Schools seeks outstanding applicants for multiple positions of Winter Assistant Coach at Thurston High School. Individuals in these positions are responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the OSAA, adherence to all department policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of Thurston High School, Springfield School District and the OSAA. Salary
Salary: Stipend will be based on the type of sport/activity and previous paid assistant coaching/activity leading experience in the sport/activity for which you are applying.
