Job Description
Provide evaluation training to teachers, administrators focusing on effective delivery of lessons, use of structured lesson planning, and observation of classrooms that support effective instruction and provide teacher opportunities to improve.
Teacher Evaluation Coordinator Responsibilities
• Helps to oversee teacher evaluation system
• Chairs District Evaluation Committee (DEC)
• Responds to teacher needs individually, in small groups, by building, and/or district wide
• Attends RID meetings regarding evaluations
• Provides updates on RID regulations regarding evaluations
• Shares pertinent RID information regarding the evaluation system to all local stakeholders
• Helps to design data collection system, analyzes data, and reports findings to DEC
• Revises handbook and guidelines based on DEC requests
• Works collaboratively with the union leadership and administration on educator evaluation issues
• Serves as the Innovation Evaluation Coordinator, meeting with other innovation districts and the RIFTHP representatives regarding evaluation issues.
• Organizes and leads the appeals process for evaluation ratings
• Maintains records of meeting agendas and minutes
• Member of any committee addressing evaluation issues
• Assists with new teacher orientation training
• Helps with district evaluation PPG and other support sessions
• Meets with new teachers upon request throughout the year, as needed
• Organizes and works with RIFTHP for training for new evaluators
• Facilitates yearly mentor calibration activities
• Responds to teacher and evaluator needs individually, in small groups, by building, and/or district wide, as needed
• Attends conferences and workshops to remain current on current evaluation issues.
