Job Summary

To provide high-quality instruction and classroom management for students in grades 6-12 when the regular teacher is absent. The primary goal is to follow the established curriculum and ensure a safe, productive, and consistent learning environment.

Responsibilities

Instructional Delivery

Follow and implement the teacher's daily lesson plans for core subjects (math, reading, science, social studies).

Classroom Management

Maintain order using the teacher's established rules; manage student transitions between subjects, lunch, and recess.

Student Supervision

Ensure student safety at all times, including during hallway transitions and dismissal.

Administrative Tasks

Take accurate attendance and lunch counts; collect completed student work.

Communication

Leave a detailed end-of-day report for the permanent teacher regarding student progress, behavior, and any incomplete tasks.
