Job Title: Pretrial Officer

Job Description:

Blue Ridge Court Services is seeking a Pretrial Officer to be responsible for the investigation and supervision of pretrial defendants referred by the Courts of Rockbridge County, Lexington, and Buena Vista.

Duties include:
- Screening and interviewing individuals detained in the Rockbridge Regional Jail for possible referral,
- Preparing pretrial reports for courts,
- Supervising defendants and maintaining files, statistics, and reports.

This position will be stationed in our Lexington office.

*Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, or Criminal Justice is required. Experience in the criminal justice system is highly desired.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong computer skills as well as excellent written and verbal communications skills are required.
