About Xaverian

Xaverian is an independent Catholic school for boys in grades 7-12, sponsored by the Xaverian Brothers. Located in Westwood, Massachusetts, this college-prep school welcomes students from approximately 90 communities across Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Xaverian was established in 1963 and presently enrolls over 960 students.

General Expectations

We are seeking applications for a full-time Middle/High School Music Teacher, with a focus on Middle and High School Concert Band, as well as Jazz, Pep, and Marching Band. Applicants will have demonstrated content knowledge and pedagogic skill relative to music education. A history of collaborating with other educators, as well as the ability to maintain and adapt existing curricula to meet the ever-changing needs of students is required. The ideal candidate will be comfortable using a variety of instructional and assessment tools, and a willingness to be involved in the school community beyond the classroom setting. Candidates should have a degree in Music, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as an enthusiasm for the school’s mission as a Catholic and Xaverian Brothers-sponsored school. Ideal candidates would have experience in other musical disciplines, including Orchestra and/or Chorus.
