General Statement of Duties

The head coach demonstrates the capacity to manage every aspect of the sports program listed above, from coordinating high-level practice sessions to providing exceptional leadership and a meaningful coaching experience for student athletes. They bring a proven ability to recruit and organize an effective assistant coaching staff if applicable and uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship and teamwork for all students.

Essential Duties

to organize and oversee all aspects of the athletic program.

to prepare student athletes physically and mentally for interscholastic competition through structured practices, instruction in fundamental skills, and thorough knowledge of rules.

to review eligibility forms and submit required documentation to the student activities director.

to ensure all physical and academic requirements are met for each player and provide the necessary information to the student activities director.

supervise the cleaning, storage, and proper maintenance of all equipment. notify the student activities director of any needed supplies, uniforms, and necessary equipment. promote positive school-community relations by keeping families and the community informed about and engaged with the athletic program.

carry out preseason meetings with parents and guardians.

to prepare daily practice plans and lead practice sessions.

to adhere to county financial policies regarding the collection and receipt of funds.

require regular attendance.

Additional Information

to receive a minimum stipend amount of $2,054.73 annual/season, which will be prorated based on actual start date if the assignment has already begun.

In the event the position is shared between two candidates, the stipend will be split.

Minimum Requirements

to have previous coaching experience, knowledge of the sport, and current understanding of coaching techniques and strategies.

to possess strong leadership and organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to mentor and motivate student-athletes.

to demonstrate an ability to support management program through previous experience as a coach or player.
