Position Available Due to Resignation: Yes
Assigned Location for 2026-2027 School Year: Austintown Elementary School
Contracted Hours/Days: 5.75 hours per day, following the student school calendar with an additional 5 days
Salary: $15.27 per hour
Starting Hourly Rate: In accordance with OAPSE negotiated agreement
Reports To: District Nurses, Building Principals, and Superintendent or Designee
Evaluation: Performance in the position will be evaluated in accordance with Board Policy on the Evaluation of Classified Personnel
Qualifications:
* Current and valid medical assistant certification preferred
* Current CPR certification or willing to obtain
* Experience in a school setting preferred
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Provide health care support to students and district nurses where needed in the district
* Maintain correspondence with parents/guardians, school officials, and allied professionals
* Provide school health services to the student population, serviced as directed by the district nurses and building administration
* Assist and support the district nurses with the special needs of students in the school setting, including:
* Administering medication
* Providing first aid
* Performing documentation and student record keeping activities
* Maintain correspondence with parents/guardians, school officials, and allied professionals
* Must have the ability to deal with a variety of situations and personalities
* Excellent customer service skills
* Must be able to work as part of a team and interact with people in a professional, friendly, supportive manner at all times
Requirements:
* Appropriate and valid medical assistant certification if applicable
* Current CPR certification
* Favorable state (BCII) and federal (FBI) background checks
* RAP back enrollment
* Complete Ohio Auditor of State fraud reporting and training
* Negative pre-employment drug screen result
* Employees must follow all Board policies, all state and federal laws, and adhere to the Ohio Code of Ethics set up by the Ohio Department of Education

* The successful candidate must complete all required compliance courses as assigned.
