Job Summary

Provides instruction in the curricular areas and behavioral skills to students in 6th through 8th grade during a teacher's absence.

Job Responsibilities

In the teacher's absence, follow the lesson plans provided to ensure programming associated with core curriculum and behavioral skills. Follow behavior management plans for students. Assists and collaborates with the administration, school counselor, staff, parents, and students on matters pertaining to academic achievement and social/emotional/behavioral goals. Maintains appropriate records and protects the confidentiality of data. Reports to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Appropriate state of Iowa licensure including substitute certificate. Experience in classroom teaching (PreK-12th grade) preferred. Initiative to be a self starter. Intuitive to the needs of students. Flexibility in assignment given. Ability to use good judgment.
