Job Description

The Logistics Technician position will require the candidate to drive a box truck/commercial van and assist in the daily activities of the logistics operations department, including deliveries, pickups of surplus furniture, Gaylords, supplies, mail delivery, and various miscellaneous departmental duties. This position will require the candidate to have the ability to lift up to 55 pounds alone. Anything over 55lbs may require heavy equipment or co-workers' assistance. Must have no work restrictions.

Requirements
Class E driver's license and at least 5 years of driving experience are required. The Logistics Operations department will request you to obtain a copy of your 20-year driving records. Must pass the HCPs Safety Department Safe Driver's Program.
Non-OTETA Position

Logistics Technician is a non-OTETA (Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act) position.

Position Location and Schedule

The position is located at Logistics Operations, 5715 E. Hanna Ave., Tampa, FL 33610. Work schedule: 6:30am to 3:00pm - PG19

Current Starting Salary

$16.39 per hour.

Summary

The Technician, Logistics, will perform logistics functions related to warehousing, storekeeping, pick up, and deliver all materials including internal mail deemed appropriate by district.

Responsibilities
Handles all mail pickup and delivery along with associated tasks. Delivers materials, equipment, textbooks, testing materials, and other items identified by the district to any district site as well as other sites as deemed appropriate by the superintendent. Operates light equipment safely and efficiently. Operates and maintains delivery vehicles to which they are assigned including transport to district facilities for maintenance, repairs, gas, or other miscellaneous service. Prepares accurate records and maintains inventory as needed. Performs storekeeping duties as needed at the central warehouse and other district locations as identified by the manager, Logistics Operations. Performs any other duties as assigned.

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations
Possession of a valid Florida Class 'E' driver's license or greater required. Commercial driver's license preferred.

Mathematical Skills

Physical Demands
Physical activities: standing, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, handling, near acuity, far acuity, depth perception, field of vision, keyboarding, talking, and hearing. Lifting demands: up to 55 pounds. Reaching activities: both dominant and non-dominant hand; overhead. Environmental conditions: noise intensity: 5, very loud; extreme cold, extreme heat, wet/humid, vibration/impact, work with or near heavy equipment, proximity to moving mechanical parts.
Other Requirements
This position requires traveling to various school sites, work locations, and/or community organizations throughout the district.
