Work Environment
This is a full-time, in-person, 12-month position. Work is performed in office, classroom, and network/server room settings.
Position Summary
The IT Specialist supports the technology infrastructure and day-to-day IT operations of a K-12 charter school. This role is responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, software, and network systems.
Installation, Configuration, and Troubleshooting
Install, configure, and troubleshoot computer systems, printers, smartboards, surveillance cameras, IP phones, and other hardware.
Software Support
Support and maintain software applications, user accounts, and system updates.
Help Desk Support
Respond to help desk requests and provide timely technical support to faculty, staff, and students.
Network Maintenance
Maintain school network infrastructure, including IT rooms, electronic accessories, computers, switches, APs, cameras, phones, and AV systems.
Computer Management
Assist with repairing, managing, and deploying computers, tablets, and mobile devices.
Technology Inventory
Maintain technology inventory and assist with asset tagging and tracking.
Cybersecurity Protocols
Implement and support cybersecurity protocols to protect school data.
Collaboration
Collaborate with the IT and Cybersecurity Administrative Team on long-term tech planning and upgrades.
Customer Service
Provide professional and courteous customer service in all interactions.
Required
High school diploma Minimum 2 years of professional IT experience, preferably within an educational institution, government agency, or public sector environment, or a combination thereof Familiarity with Windows and Chromeos environments.
Preferred
Associate, Bachelor's, or Master's degree or Career Technical Academy Diploma in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Information Systems related field. Relevant industry certifications in networking or cybersecurity Knowledge of networking concepts, hardware repair, and systems administration. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to multitask effectively. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced school environment.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods working on a computer and walking across campus. Ability to lift and carry IT equipment up to 50 lbs. Frequent bending, crawling under desks, and climbing ladders.
