Qualifications

Minimum: Previous experience giving academic support to elementary school students. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to develop and maintain appropriate relationships and rapport with students, parents, and colleagues. Organized and thorough in collection, analysis, record keeping, and reporting of individual and school data, both manually and through use of appropriate technology. Ability to support classroom teacher-based literacy instruction and/or math instruction. Intervention Support Staff Job Description: Preferred: Valid Michigan elementary teaching certificate with an emphasis in reading/language arts and/or math. Experience with implementing and analyzing diagnostic reading assessments. Knowledge and experience in providing support to math instruction. Demonstrated proficiency in usage and application of technology.
