Special Instructional Assistant-Level I (Apr) Job Description

Qualifications

Previous experience as an instructional assistant in a public school system or experience working with groups of children preferred. Basic reading, writing, and computation skills; good written and oral communication skills; basic computer skills preferred.

Requirements for Title I Paraprofessional

Applicants must meet the requirements for a Title I paraprofessional, including:

Must have a high school diploma or its recognized equivalent and

Must have met one of the following options:

Completed two years of study (48 credit hours) at an institution of higher education;

Hold an associate’s (or higher) degree; Have passed the parapro assessment through ETS.

Certification

Proof of highly qualified certification must be attached to your application to be considered for this position.

Pay Rate

Instructional Assistant Grade C2B salary scale (credit is based on years of full-time experience in a related position).

Assignment

Full time / 10 months / 183 days

Start Date

This position is effective with the 2026-2027 school year.
