Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and experienced substitute teacher to fill a long-term vacancy in our high school mathematics department. The ideal candidate will be able to provide instruction and support to students in a dynamic and fast-paced learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach mathematics classes as assigned by the principal or department head
• Develop and implement lesson plans that meet state and national standards
• Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
• Maintain accurate records of student grades and attendance
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and improve teaching practices

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mathematics, education, or related field
• Valid teaching certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
• Proven experience as a substitute teacher or classroom instructor
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for long periods of time and move around the school as needed
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
• Valid driver's license (if applicable)

Working Conditions

• Work in a fast-paced, dynamic educational environment
• Exposure to a variety of teaching environments, including classrooms and offices
• May be required to work flexible hours or on weekends as needed
