Job Title: Softball Head Coach - Responsibilities: - - Plan, organize, and conduct regular practice sessions. - - Develop and implement game strategies and tactics. - - Teach fundamental skills, techniques, and sports rules to student-athletes. - - Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and school-sponsored trips. - - Monitor academic progress and support students in balancing athletics and academics. - - Promote discipline, responsibility, and good sportsmanship among players. - - Ensure compliance with school, district, and state athletic regulations. - - Manage and maintain team equipment and uniforms. - - Collaborate with the athletic director on scheduling, budget, and facility use. - - Maintain open communication with parents and guardians. - - Provide mentorship and guidance to student-athletes on personal development and college opportunities. - - Enforce all school policies and codes of conduct. - - Perform other job-related duties as assigned. - Requirements: - Minimum Qualifications: - - Coaching experience at the high school or competitive youth level. - - Valid Florida teaching certificate or valid Department of Education athletic coaching certificate. - - Valid FHSAA certification. - - Adult and Child First Aid/CPR/AED certificate issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. - - Valid Florida driver's license. - Preferred Qualifications: - - Head coaching experience in the assigned or a closely related sport at the high school level. - - Experience mentoring youth and fostering a positive team culture. - - Familiarity with academic eligibility requirements for student-athletes. - - Knowledge of the sport's rules, techniques, and safety practices. - Adoption: - - 10/07/2025 - Revised:** - - 03/23/2026
