Key Responsibilities

• Provide instructional and support services to students with disabilities in the classroom setting
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers and other support staff
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs
• Collaborate with other support staff, such as speech therapists and occupational therapists, to provide comprehensive support services to students
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and data
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in ESE instruction and support

Summary of Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field required
• Experience working with students with disabilities, preferably as an ESE teacher or support staff
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other support staff
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing needs of students
• Certification as an ESE teacher or related field preferred

Working Conditions

• Work environment: Classroom setting, including a variety of settings such as special education classrooms, general education classrooms, and resource rooms
• Physical demands: Prolonged sitting, standing, and walking; occasional heavy lifting (up to 25 pounds); frequent use of computer and other electronic devices
• Exposure to infectious diseases: Moderate exposure to students with contagious illnesses
• Noise level: Moderate to high noise levels in the classroom setting
• Other environmental factors: May be exposed to allergens, odors, or other environmental factors that may trigger allergic reactions or discomfort

Salary Range

$40,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications
