Salary and Benefits

The salary range is $47,588 - $103,098 depending on education/experience plus a generous benefit plan.

Springfield Public Schools is located in Springfield, Oregon, in the heart of the Willamette Valley, and serves 185 square miles of the city of Springfield and east/central Lane County. Job Summary

Springfield Public Schools seeks outstanding candidates for the position of temporary, full-time (1.0 fte) English Language Development (ELD) Teacher at Douglas Gardens & Mt. Vernon Elementary Schools (split position) for the 26/27 school year only. To support this work, successful candidates will possess the following characteristics that support our vision of every student, every day and share our values:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

Knowledge and experience with elementary school-aged students; Strong understanding of multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) for academics and social/emotional/behavioral; Knowledge and experience working in a school or district that implements the concepts of Response to Intervention (RTI);

Knowledge of School-Wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS);

Demonstrated understanding of, and responsiveness to, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds that characterize a K-12 school community in a manner specific to the position;

Strong student relationship building skills and the ability to establish a sound system of classroom routines and management;

Establishes effective, collaborative working relationships with diverse staff, student and community populations.

Ability to effectively manage and supervise students and their work.

Ability to provide building leadership around literacy, with team and principal support & guidance.
Minimum Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

A valid state of Oregon teaching license, or the ability to get one, with an English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) endorsement; Successfully pass fingerprinting, criminal, Oregon Department of Education, and TSPC background checks.
