Responsibilities

• Attend district in-services and professional development opportunities in order to implement new strategies for curriculum and instructional improvement
• Establish and implement appropriate evaluation procedures
• Active participation in appropriate staff development activities
• Contribute as a team member and/or leader to all school improvement initiatives
• Maintain a classroom climate and management plan conducive to learning
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, the public, and staff
• Other duties as assigned

Job Title (for context): elementary teacher - 5th grade at Southern View (one year only)

Contract Period

• Contract period: 180 days

Reporting Structure

• Reports to: Building Principal

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Professional Educators License, elementary endorsement
• Knowledge of current curriculum, instructional trends, and school improvement process

Effective Date

• Effective date: First contractual day of the 2026-2027 district 186 180-day calendar
