Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated District Wide Special Education Instructional Assistant to join our team at Mcke Elementary. As an integral member of our special education team, you will provide support to students with diverse needs, collaborate with teachers and other professionals, and contribute to the development of individualized education plans.
Key Responsibilities
Provide instructional support to students with disabilities in a variety of settings, including classrooms, resource rooms, and individual sessions.
Assist teachers and other professionals in developing and implementing IEPs, PTSBs, and PLCs.
Collaborate with parents and guardians to gather information and develop strategies for supporting student success.
Maintain accurate records and reports, including progress monitoring and data collection.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in special education.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in a special education setting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Basic life support certification (BLS) and first aid training.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Ability to stand for long periods, sit for extended periods, and move frequently throughout the day.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
