Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Principal/Education & Instruction Manager to oversee educational programs, instructional quality, and administrative operations within our facility schools. Reporting directly to district leadership, you will hold key supervisory responsibilities, leading our teaching staff, coordinating curriculum development, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a collaborative environment alongside facility security and personnel.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Supervision & Leadership: Serve as the immediate supervisor for teaching staff, performing formal teacher evaluations and guiding continuous professional growth under the Teacher Excellence and Support System (TESS).
Instructional Oversight: Plan and direct non-graded learning activities for inmate students; coordinate course outlines, lesson plans, and instructional resources.
Curriculum & Materials: Recommend and select appropriate textbooks, instructional aids, media, and supplemental teaching tools.
Testing & Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to state and district testing protocols, school attendance tracking, and mandatory reporting.
Administrative & Financial Operations: Assist in developing budgets, procuring supplies, and gathering statistical data for district reporting and operational planning.
Student Placement: Evaluate student progress to make recommendations for educational placement and advancement.
Facility Collaboration: Work in close harmony with unit staff and correctional leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and cohesive school operations.
General: Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.
