Job Summary

A Pre-Kindergarten Teacher Assistant works with distinguished teachers to grow their craft and become classroom teachers. They teach students in collaboration with the distinguished teachers. They do not plan lessons or assignments, but will familiarize themselves with the lessons and the instructional materials in order to teach effectively. Once the school leadership team and the distinguished teacher believes the assistants is ready to provide direct instruction without any support, they will be elevated to the teacher position and receive the commensurate salary increase.

Responsibilities

• Work with distinguished teachers to grow their craft and become classroom teachers
• Teach students in collaboration with the distinguished teachers
• Familiarize themselves with lessons and instructional materials to teach effectively
• Make copies and grade papers for the teachers
• Receive minimal duties and only four days a month

Compensation

• The maximum salary for a teacher assistants with three years of demonstrated achievement is $43,000.
