Job Title: Boys Cross Country Head Coach - Summary: - We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as our boys cross country head coach at Wooster Middle School for the 2026-2027 season. - This seasonal position is ideal for someone passionate about athletics and youth development, who can help foster a positive and encouraging environment for our student-athletes. - Responsibilities: - - Planning and conducting daily practice sessions, ensuring a safe and productive training environment. - - Develop and implement training plans that focus on skill development, endurance, and overall fitness. - - Provide guidance and support to student-athletes during practices and competitions, encouraging their personal and athletic growth. - - Monitor and evaluate the performance and progress of athletes, offering constructive feedback to enhance their skills. - - Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, respect, and inclusivity. - - Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding schedules, expectations, and team events. - - Organizing and supervising team events, including meets, fundraisers, and team-building activities. - - Ensure compliance with all school policies and regulations as well as relevant athletic guidelines. - Requirements: - - Previous experience in coaching or competing in cross country or distance running is preferred. - - Strong understanding of the fundamentals of cross country running and training techniques. - - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes. - - Ability to work collaboratively with the head coach, athletes, and parents to create a supportive team environment. - - Commitment to promoting the physical, emotional, and social well-being of student-athletes. - - First aid and CPR certification. - - Availability to attend all practices and competitions during the cross country season. - - Coaching permit. - Stipend: - $1500.00
