Nicolet College is a comprehensive two-year college located on the shores of Lake Julia in Wisconsin’s beautiful Northwoods region. We seek thoughtful, innovative, enthusiastic, and student-focused professionals to join our team.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

This position may support instruction through a variety of formats, including:

Face-to-face laboratory and clinic instruction

Hybrid and online theory instruction

We are particularly interested in professionals with expertise in:

Hair cutting, styling, coloring, and texture services

Barbering and men’s grooming

Nail technology and nail artistry

Skin care and esthetics

Makeup artistry

Salon operations and management

Retailing and customer experience

Preference will be given to candidates who reside within or near Nicolet College’s district and who maintain strong connections to the regional beauty industry.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging, learner-centered instruction aligned with Nicolet College’s mission and values.

Teach theory, practical skills, and professional standards in cosmetology and related disciplines.

Demonstrate industry best practices and current techniques.

Provide individual and group coaching to help students master technical competencies.

Foster professionalism, customer service excellence, and workplace readiness.

Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.

Provide timely feedback and maintain regular communication with students.

Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and student records.

Utilize instructional technology and learning management systems effectively.

Support student recruitment, retention, and career exploration activities.

Participate in curriculum improvement and program development initiatives as needed.

Maintain current industry knowledge, licensure, and professional certifications.

Support workforce and community education initiatives when opportunities arise.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Licensed cosmetologist

Minimum of two years (4,000 hours) of recent occupational experience in cosmetology or a related beauty profession.

Ability to communicate effectively with diverse learners.

Commitment to student success and inclusive teaching practices.

Ability to meet faculty quality assurance system (FQAS) requirements.

Variable hours based on instructional assignments.
