Job Title - Teacher - CTE - Arts, Audio/Video Technology, and Communications - --- - --- - Reports to - Principal - Duty Day - 187 days - Wage/Hour Status - Exempt - Pay Grade - Teacher Salary - Date Created - March 2024 - Responsibilities - --- - * Serve as career and technical education instructor in arts, audio/video technology, and communications pathway. - * Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. - * Enable students to develop competencies and skills to be successful in post-secondary education and/or in an entry-level position in the industry. - What Success Looks Like - --- - * Present a positive role model for students; demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible. - * Demonstrate knowledge, understanding, and skill in the subject areas taught. - * Develop long- and short-range plans for the instructional program. - * Provide planned instruction to assigned students; presenting the subject matter according to guidelines established by TEA, board policies, and aligned industry credentialing agency. - Responsibilities (Continued) - --- - * Create a classroom environment conducive to learning, including classroom management strategies and assisting students in analyzing and improving their study methods and habits. - * Employ a variety of instructional techniques consistent with the needs and capabilities of the student groups involved. - * Consistently assess student achievement through formal and informal testing and use results to plan instructional activities. - Responsibilities (Continued) - --- - * Work to establish and maintain open lines of communication and professional relationships with students and their parents, colleagues, and community members. - * Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. - * Work to maintain and improve professional competence through participation in campus and district staff development programs. - Responsibilities (Continued) - --- - * Cooperate with other members of staff for planning and implementing instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements. - * Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers. - * Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required. - Responsibilities (Continued) - --- - * Assist in selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials. - * Responsible for receiving and maintaining teaching supplies and classroom equipment as provided by the district; keep a current inventory of all items and provide the inventory upon request. - Responsibilities (Continued) - --- - * Implement technology to strengthen the teaching and learning process. - * Compile and maintain all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents as required, including student records and credentialing information. - Equipment Used - --- - * Computer - * Printer - * Copier - * Other specialized equipment unique to the teaching assignment - * This instructor position prepares students to film athletic events and operate the live-action media broadcasting system (LAMBS) at both Rhodes and Legacy Stadiums. - Potential Leadership Opportunities - --- - * Supervise assigned teacher aides and student teachers. - Working Conditions - --- - * Physical demands/environment factors: may require standing for long periods of time, frequent stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing, move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment. - * Mental demands: ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); ability to instruct; maintain emotional control under stress. - Additional Information - --- - * The foregoing statements describe the general purpose and responsibilities assigned to this job and are not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and duties that may be assigned or skills that may be required.
