Guest Teacher Job Description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
* Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum and school goals using Montessori pedagogy.
* Understands and follows objectives for all lessons, unit projects, and effectively communicates these objectives to students.
* Maintains as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which assigned.
* Teaches lesson plan as outlined by the absent teacher.

Performance Responsibilities:
* Demonstrates knowledge and incorporates technology in daily tasks, as required.
* Performs all extra duties for the absent teacher or paraprofessional as required by the school.

Classroom Environment and Safety:
* Contributes to the classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
* Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
* Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct.
* Maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner

Professional Appearance:
* Maintains a professional appearance as an example for students.

Requirements

A four-year degree from an accredited college/university (must have a copy of your official transcripts confirming the degree)
Or A two-year degree from an accredited college/university (must have a copy of your official transcripts confirming the degree). Two confidential professional or volunteer, supervisory references.

Preferred Specialized Skills/Experience:
* Bilingual in English and Spanish.
