Job Title: 4 hr/day 2nd shift Custodian @ Coventry High School > > Position Summary: > The custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and general upkeep of school buildings and grounds, including classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas. > > Responsibilities:* > - Cleaning classrooms, lavatories, hallways, and other school areas; > - Sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and emptying trash; > - Maintaining floors, including stripping and waxing as needed; > - Operating floor cleaning and maintenance equipment; > - Ensuring restrooms and supply dispensers are stocked; > - Assisting with snow and ice removal from walkways and entrances; > - Performing exterior cleaning, including picking up litter and basic grounds maintenance; > - Moving furniture and equipment for school activities and events; > - Assisting maintenance staff when needed; > - Helping prepare areas for classes and special events; > - Performing other related duties as assigned. > > Qualifications: > - High school diploma or GED; > - Valid driver's license (preferred); > - Prior custodial or related experience preferred; > - Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow safety procedures. > > Physical Requirements: > - Ability to stand and move for extended periods; > - Ability to bend, squat, and twist regularly during an 8-hour shift; > - Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds; > - Ability to operate custodial equipment and climb ladders when necessary. > > Hours: > 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm > > Pay and Benefits:* Per contract
